Why Patients Love Veneers
A New Smile That Stands the Test of Time
Veneers are known for being the long-term solution for enhancing your smile, lasting for 10 years or more. For this reason, many patients choose veneers over composite bonding.
Premium Materials Used
The use of porcelain to emulate tooth enamel is something our patients love – it looks almost indistinguishable from genuine tooth enamel!
Close Gaps in Your Teeth (Without a Brace)
Minor gaps in your teeth can be filled with veneers, giving patients an option to enhance their smile and improve its alignment as part of a single treatment.
Fully Customised Treatment
The cosmetic outcome of veneers is whatever you wish it to be.
While some patients might be looking for the ‘Hollywood’ look, others might seek a natural finish. Whatever your preference, our talented dentists can go above and beyond to digitally plan and create a smile you will never tire of wearing.
Your Patient Journey
Consultation
If you are new to the practice, a full dental examination will need to be completed, including a set of X-rays. Any evidence of dental decay and gum disease will need to be resolved prior to cosmetic treatment, such as veneers.
Your dentist will explain the process, and should you wish to go ahead, digital scans of your teeth will be taken.
Treatment Appointment
Your tooth is prepared to receive a temporary veneer. Your dentist will carefully remove a small amount of tooth enamel under local anaesthetic, with a view to making sure the permanent veneer will be the correct thickness for your smile.
A full cosmetic analysis of your smile will be made so we can determine the optimal proportions and shade of your new veneers.
Veneer Fitting Appointment
When the dental technician has sent back your veneers, it’s time to give them a try! Any small cosmetic enhancements can be made at this stage. Your dentist will check your teeth bite together correctly and use a powerful adhesive to fit them firmly in place.
FAQs
What happens to your teeth under veneers?
Your natural teeth provide the foundation for each individual veneer. Nowadays, it is possible to preserve a significant portion of each tooth thanks to modern techniques. Please note that tooth roots and nerves remain untouched during the veneer process.
Can I have my whole smile treated with veneers?
Up to 12 teeth can be treated using veneers, but you can have individual teeth treated, too. Full smile makeovers of 8 top teeth are becoming increasingly popular, with many patients discovering the confidence-boosting advantages of a beautiful smile.
Porcelain Veneers or Composite Veneers – Which do I need?
Porcelain is a stronger material than composite resin and will, therefore, have a longer chance of durability. So, if you’re seeking a long-term cosmetic solution for smile enhancement, you may be inclined to choose veneers over composite bonding.
Whilst composite bonding lasts an average of 4-9 years, veneers can last for 15 years or more, meaning fewer visits are needed for maintenance, making them a more cost-effective option over time.
