Whitening at home can take up to 2 months, depending on the result you are looking for and how many hours you wear the whitening trays each day.
Convenient at-home teeth whitening with the respected Pola system is an easy route to a brighter-looking smile.
Long-lasting Results
At-home whitening is the most viable way of achieving a long-term result from teeth whitening, whilst in-surgery whitening often lasts just a few weeks.
Whiten Teeth By Up To 6 Shades
Pola whitening can significantly improve your tooth shade, reversing the appearance of discoloured and tired-looking teeth.
Remineralise Your Teeth
Pola’s innovative fluoride-based Pola Day and Night take-home systems will remineralise teeth affected by decay and slow down enamel erosion.
Formulated with Desensitising Technology
The Pola whitening gel formulation has been designed to pose minimal-to-no sensitivity. Carry on with your normal routine, free from discomfort and distractions.
Consultation
If you are new to the practice, a full dental examination will need to be completed, including a set of X-rays. The condition of your soft tissues (gums and tongue) will also be examined.
Cosmetic treatments like teeth whitening are only viable if a patient has healthy teeth and gums. Please note we will never provide any cosmetic treatment until this is the case.
Impression-taking and Treatment Planning
At a second appointment, digital impressions of your teeth are taken. These will be used by the Pola dental laboratory to create your accurately fitted and comfortable whitening trays. Your dentist will always take pre-operative photos so that we can monitor your shade change.
At-home Treatment
You can begin your whitening treatment at home, using the whitening trays either night or day – whatever works best for you.
Patient Review
We will invite you back to the practice for a review appointment. If you wish to whiten your teeth to achieve the maximum 6-shade increase, which has not yet been attained, your dentist may provide additional gels to help you achieve this.
Whitening at home can take up to 2 months, depending on the result you are looking for and how many hours you wear the whitening trays each day.
Dentist-supervised teeth whitening is completely safe, as custom whitening trays are made, so the whitening gels will have very minimal (if any) contact with your gums. The whitening gels used are a safe level of hydrogen peroxide – we strongly recommend against non-dentist-supervised formulations, which often do not use the legal levels of this substance.
If you are thinking about opting for a non-dentist supervised whitening treatment, our dentists are happy to talk through the potential risks of this with you – we want to keep our patients safe.
This is entirely dependent on how you look after your teeth. Reducing your intake of teeth-staining food and drink, attending regular hygienist and dentist appointments, and refraining from smoking are all actions you can take to keep your smile looking a beautiful shade of white (and healthy, of course!).
